How Experiences Shape Personal Brand

May 21, 2023

When it comes to career paths, many of us tend to think that our interests and hobbies are just a side gig that we enjoy in our free time. Looking back at my own journey, I realized that our hobbies and interests are more than just fun pastimes – they can actually shape our personal brand and career.

How Experiences Shaped My Personal Brand

At the age of 18, I started my career as a commercial print model. Little did I know that this experience would condition me to become self-employed and pave the way for my career in visual communications. As a model, I had the freedom to work on my own schedule, and this independence made it difficult for me to adjust to a "real job" later on. Not only that, but it also taught me the importance of being in control of my schedule and having the freedom to create my own path.

As I moved on to pursue a degree in visual communications and worked briefly for photographers creating websites for their celebrity clients, I realized that I wanted more control over my schedule and to be free from the unwelcome harassment from my male employers. This led me to start my own graphic and web design business, where I could use my experience as a model and web designer to create beautiful personal branding websites.

Through this experience, I learned the importance of perception and how we are perceived online. Today, my business, Briofive, focuses on assisting entrepreneurs and executives in developing a personal brand that reflects their true personality and complements them online. I believe that everyone should put their best foot forward in order to leave a lasting impression on others.

But what I've learned is that it's not just about your professional experiences, it's also about your hobbies and interests. For me, my love for modeling and design has influenced my career and personal brand in a big way. And I'm sure for many of you, your hobbies and interests have influenced yours as well.

So, I encourage you to embrace your passions and let them guide you in your career and personal branding. Don't be afraid to show the world who you really are, because that's what sets you apart from the rest. Your personal brand is a reflection of who you are, and what better way to show that than through your unique experiences and passions?

Remember...

Your hobbies and interests are not just for fun – they can actually shape your personal brand and career. Embrace your passions, take control of your schedule, and show the world who you really are. It may be scary at first, but trust me, it's worth it in the end. Your personal brand is what sets you apart, and your unique experiences and passions are what make you who you are. So, go out there and make your mark!
